Location Shots and why we used them + Target Audience

Location Shots and why we used them
We have chosen several suitable locations for our music video, since we have decided to shoot a 'Feature Film' style music video we need to include quite a varitety of places, to acheive a devloped plot in our music video. The locations that we have used include (please note these locations are not in order of appearance):

1. Alfies car - Reasons why we used alfies car as a location is because we could use a diverse range of creative camera shots. The angles we acheived for this location were, an over the shoulder shot of whilst Alfie (music video character) was driving, a meduim low angle shot which was filmed from the passangers side on the dashboard faceing the driver, we filmed through the windscreen onto the road to give the 'moving vehicle' effect.

2. Olly's Living Room & street - We filmed a couple of shots at this location for a 'Match on Action' effect, these shots featured an extreme close-up, low-angle shot.

3. River Side shot - We thought the scenery of at the riverside shot was great, as it was secluded and that emphasised the 'togetherness' of the couple. Also we could get many shots done from the location as room wasn't an issue

4. The Tunnel(Underpass) - We needed a range of locations for the artist to feature in alone, so we brainstormed as many locations we could think of that are interesting enough and the the underpass was easily one of the most interesting, the range of colours, the graffiti everything was great. Also as it was an underpass we could get a really could high angle shot from above it.

5. Amys House and road - We needed a second house in the plot - the female character's house so we thought it would be suitable to just use the actresses house. It was in an accessible location with a long street out side, perfect for a long shot.

6. The Church - the towns church is in the centre of our hometown Hitchin so it was perfect to get a busy shot with great scenery. Also we wanted to get a shot of a group of birds soaring through the air, and we knew that this location was the place for the job.

Target Audience

Seeing as we felt that the song we chose to use was about a typical love story, it was safe to presume it's a universal concept. So we had the advantage of creating a target audience from scratch. After discussion we decided that a younger audience would be most suitable as it's the type audience we know best. We could use our own knowledge and ideas of friends of how we could create this project for a younger audience. An example; of how we did this was using younger actors to feature in the music videos rather than adults.
